Punch-in are an alt-rock four-piece, featuring friends who’ve made music together to various degrees of non-success since their early teens. Careers, distance, and eventually fatherhood pulled Jack, Oliver and Declan apart.
After finding themselves together in the right place at the right time again – their hometown of Warrington – they replaced all the gear they sold years ago. In late 2025, another old friend, Jonny, joined them on the keys, and Punch-in was born.
Blending elements of new wave, post-punk and indie rock, Punch-in create catchy yet introspective songs. They reflect on and poke fun at their own trivial places in a messy modern world, with a sprinkling of social commentary from that same blinkered perspective.
The band's instinct for melody, emotional honesty and a sense of the absurd is shaped by a shared love of artists like Talking Heads, The Cure, Pixies, Grandaddy, Reuben, XTC and Eels.
Punch-in’s debut single, ‘Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing’, released on 30 January 2026, ahead of a sold-out single launch party with a single launch party and debut live show at independent venue Peggy McCools.
Following their sophomore single 'This Is Not an Intervention', they will release 'Violent Thoughts' on Friday 5 June 2026.
Already being championed by new music tastemakers like Dave Monks on BBC Introducing Merseyside and indie zine God Is In The TV, Punch-in are ready to introduce themselves to the world.
